JAKARTA – The Indonesian Ministry of Communication and Informatics (Kemenkominfo) held a chip talk show in “Jarimu Harimaumu” on Friday (26/4/2024) at SMA Negeri 16 Jakarta and was attended by 600 students. The chip talk show activity aims to provide education about digital literacy in a way that is easy for students to accept. The talk show session began with the screening of an animated video entitled “4 Steps for Digital Literacy”. The four steps in question are interaction, participation, collaboration and self-control so that students #MakinCakapDigital.

An explanation about digital literacy was then delivered by three resource persons guided by the moderator. The first presentation was delivered by Lecturer and Head of Public Administration Study Laboratory, FISIP Unpar, Trisno Sakti Herwanto.

The first scope of ethics is awareness, namely being aware when using the internet. The second point is integrity, which is also related to honesty. The third and fourth points in the scope of ethics are responsibility and virtue.

As digital natives or natives of the digital world, the current generation of students are more digitally competent because they have been accustomed to the digital world since birth. This is different from the previous generation which included digital immigrants or digital immigrants who still had to go through the process of adapting to the digital world.

However, understanding of digital culture ethics for digital natives must also continue to be improved. Netiquette or etiquette for using the internet must be understood by digital natives.

“Can we play games? You can play games but don’t get addicted. So now we’re not just on an eating diet, but we’re also on an information diet. If we get negative content, what should we do? “Some of them are hidden or we block them and it just stops with us,” said Trisno.
