Throughout Colombia there is consternation over the death of a young woman whose body was found inside a suitcase.
This is Laura Isabel Lopera, a 20-year-old girl who appeared dead this Saturday, February 10, inside a suitcase in a home located in the Boston Sucre neighborhood from the central east of Medellín.
The main suspect is her boyfriend, a 50-year-old Canadian citizen with whom she had been in a relationship for four months.
According to the press in that country, the woman usually went to her boyfriend’s house and always kept in touch with her family.
However, the alerts began to go off last Friday after the woman showed no signs of life after several hours away from home.
This led his family to notify the authorities and undertake the search on their own.
The search focused on the home of the foreigner who had rented a large apartment for himself.
Laura Isabel Lopera’s family approached the owner of the property and requested information.
The woman confirmed having seen the deceased in the apartment so, with permission from the authorities, they proceeded to enter.
A friend of the family and her mother searched every space in the property looking for traces that would give some clue to the young woman’s whereabouts.
However, it was the man who encountered the terrible scene.
The young woman was already inside a suitcase lifeless.
After that, he prevented Laura’s mother from entering the room and notified the authorities.
Now, the foreigner is wanted by the authorities, although he left the country yesterday.
The young woman leaves a three-year-old child orphaned.
