Young U14s in grouping in Ampefiloha

During the official opening of the regrouping, organized under the aegis of the Malagasy Karate Federation.

As part of its succession policy for preparing, the Malagasy Karate Federation (FMK) is organizing a group for young practitioners under the age of 14 for the second year.

The Ampefiloha year old room accommodates a hundred karatekas from different regional leagues. This rally, which has become an annual meeting for the hopes of national karate, aims to strengthen the capacities of young athletes through a week of intensive training supervised by federal technicians, with the support of members of the senior national team. Launched last year with only 26 participants, the program is experiencing a clear progression this year. True to its habits, the FMK steering committee, led by its president Emile Ratefinanahary, made a visit to the scene yesterday. The president took the opportunity to encourage young athletes as well as their parents, encouraging them to continue their training within their respective clubs and to participate actively in statutory competitions, a real springboard to the national team. “Preparing the next generation is a necessity to guarantee the future of our discipline. In eight years, these young people will be able to represent Madagascar with dignity on the international scene ”, said Emile Ratefinanahary. At the national level, competitions begin from the age of 6 with the chick category. Tests like the children’s cup or the Boeny and Betsileo challenges allow young talents to distinguish themselves and claim a place in the national selection, in particular with a view to their participation in the Youth League internationally.

In addition, the first edition of the International Tana Cup will be held on July 11, 12 and 13 at the Mahamasina Sports Palace. No less than 350 fighters are expected, in Kumite as in Kata, representing Madagascar, Reunion, Mayotte, the Comoros, but also France. Organized by the Tana City section under the aegis of the FMK, this competition is approved by the International Karate Federation (WKF) and will allow athletes to accumulate points in the global classification. An opportunity for Malagasy karatekas to shine at home.
