On Friday, the Young Democrats presented their European election program in the presence of their three representatives on the DP European list, Amela Skenderovic, Jana Degrott and Christos Floros. In addition to a European digitalization strategy, greater proximity to citizens is also required. In this respect, the Young Democrats want the direct election of the Commission President by citizens, a right of initiative for the EU Parliament and the introduction of transnational voter lists for the election of EU parliamentarians. They also care about strengthening LGBTQIA+ and women’s rights – including access to structures such as birthing centers, reproductive and abortion clinics without religious or social restrictions.
