An act of rare violence shocked the rural commune of Mandiavato, in the district of Miarinarivo, on Saturday November 22. A 31-year-old albino herdsman was found dead, decapitated, in an isolated forest in Analakely, about two kilometers from the village of Ambazaha. The victim, who left early in the morning to tend two oxen, did not return at the usual time, prompting his family to alert the authorities.
Indeed, this particularly sordid murder strongly revives the question of the security of people with albinism, who are still too often exposed to violence motivated by occult beliefs or practices. The local population, deeply shocked, joined the police to support the search and demand strong measures to prevent such a tragedy from happening again. The investigation continues to shed light on the circumstances of this crime and identify those responsible.
