West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee said, whenever you sign the amended Citizenship Act (CAA), you become a Bangladeshi. He made these comments while addressing a public meeting organized in support of Trinamool Congress candidate Jagdish Basunia in Cooch Behar on Thursday (April 4).

So, decide for yourself whether this law is good or bad. There are still detention camps in Assam. You will be marked as a foreigner.’

The Trinamool chief also said that there will be no NRC, no CAA. From Hindus, Muslims, Sikhs, Rajvanshis to tribal communities, rest assured. I will not allow CAA in Bengal.
