All data will be deleted by Google from the places that users have visited before. The “timeline” of the Map application will continue to work for those who choose it, but the data will not be stored by Google, but will be saved on the given device.
Many Google users received an email recently from the tech giant, in which they warn you to save your previous trips by December 1, because they will be deleted by the company after the deadline. Users will still have the option to save their data if they’re worried about losing it, or if they want to sync it between their various devices, but this will no longer happen by default.
Google keeps data in the map application for less time
The time the company keeps location history is also shortened. Until now, it was a year and a half, but that will change to three months. Sooner or later, those users who have not yet received such an e-mail in their mailboxes will be notified of the changes. Google did not specifically justify the changes, but recently criticized many times the company for releasing this sensitive data to the authorities.
