Known for his roles in Yeşilçam films, actor Aydemir Akbaş, who passed away at the age of 88, was sent on his final journey following the funeral prayer held in Levent.
88-year-old Yeşilçam actor Aydemir Akbaş, who was hospitalized in Şişli due to his deteriorating health condition, lost his life. Aydemir Akbaş’s funeral prayer was held at Levent Barbaros Hayrettin Paşa Mosque. Istanbul Governor Davut Gül, artist İbrahim Tatlıses, actor Şafak Sezer, Mehmet Ali Erbil, Bülent Bilgiç, Galatasaray Sports Club President Dursun Özbek, Cinema General Manager Birol Güven and artist Candan Erçetin, as well as many fans and celebrities attended the funeral prayer.
“We lost the master”
Actor Serkan Şengül, who came to Akbaş’s funeral, said, “We lost the master. We lost a valuable brother. We probably shot the last scene together. Turkish cinema has lost its value. I am glad I got to know him. I am glad I shot movies with him. He was a very entertaining person. May he rest in peace. May he rest in peace.”
“He was a master pen”
Actor Gani Rüzgar Şavata, who attended the funeral, said, “The press and media know this person. He came from cinema and theater. He was a master penman. He was a master director, a master writer. He was an exemplary person with his morality and literature. He also carried sports in parallel. He carried sports too. He was a Galatasaray fanatic but he also loved all sports. In fact, he was also the pioneer of Turkish sports. He was a person who spent everything he had for art and lived with honor and dignity. He was an exemplary person.”
