Yemen – The Yemeni “Al-Masirah” channel, affiliated with the Houthi “Ansar Allah” group, reported on Thursday that two air strikes targeted the Ras Issa area in Hodeidah, western Yemen.
The channel said, “The American-British aggression aircraft targeted the Ras Issa area in the Salif District with two raids.”
This comes as the US Central Command announced on Thursday that its forces “launched self-defense strikes against two drones in Yemen.”
Yesterday, Wednesday, the Ansar Allah group announced the targeting of the Liberian-owned ship “True Confidence,” which led to the death and injury of a number of its crew members.
It also announced at the beginning of the week on March 4, the targeting of the Israeli ship MSC SKY in the Arabian Sea, hours after targeting American warships in the Red Sea.
On the other hand, the spokesman for the “Ansar Allah” group, Muhammad Abdel Salam, said today that Washington and London bear the repercussions of the “militarization” of the Red Sea, stressing that targeting Israeli ships or those heading to Israel aims to put pressure to stop the war on Gaza.
The Houthis repeatedly stress that their attacks “will not stop until the aggression stops and the siege imposed on the Palestinian people in the Gaza Strip is lifted.”
The Houthi attacks caused a number of major shipping companies to suspend the passage of their ships through the Red Sea, through which about 12 percent of global trade usually passes.
