Yasiel Puig commands Águila’s beating of the Red Devils

Yasiel Puig hit two home runs and drove in five runs and was part of a seven-run attack in the second inning and El Águila defeated Diablos Rojos 19-5 and took advantage in the Red Series at Beto Ávila.

Mexico Rojo attacked Phillip Valdez in the first inning, Franklin Barreto hit a solo home run between right and center, the score 1-0.

Veracruz tied the game in the first inning, Edwin Espinal made a sacrifice fly to the right and “in a step and run”, Gustavo Núñez came to the plate, 1-1 new game at the Beto Ávila.

In the seventh inning, the Veracruzians shook the scarlet pitching, with a count of two balls, zero strikes, Carlos Franco hit a grand slam and beat Connor Panas, Malquin Canelo and José Luna, 2-17 score,

The Scarlet Gang sought to get into the game in the eighth inning with a three-run attack, which was crowned by a home run by Fernando Villalobos, 5-17 on the scoreboard.

Veracruz put the ball in the middle in the bottom of the eighth roll, Malquin Canelo hit a triple to the center and with speed on board Carlos Arellano and Connor Panas came to the plate, 5-19 score.

The winning pitcher was Phillips Valdez with five innings of work, seven-hit ball, allowed two earned runs, walked two, struck out two and allowed a home run.

The setback was for Steven Moyers, with two full innings of work, he received seven hits, allowed eight runs, of which five were earned, walked three, struck out one and allowed two home runs.
