Xóchitl Gálvez recognizes defeat against Sheinbaum and demands results for Mexico’s ‘serious problems’

Xóchitl Gálvez, the opposition presidential candidate, offered a message to the press, citing the results of the quick count that do not favor her.

“Trend that also seems to be irreversible.”

Gálvez stated “I have always been a firm democrat, firmly committed to respect for the law, this is what I have demonstrated as a citizen and throughout my political life, which is why I recognize that the trends for the presidential election do not favor me and that there is no information that suggests this could change.”

He confirmed that he contacted Dr. Claudia Sheinbaum to recognize the election result.

“I recognized the result because I love Mexico and I know that if its government does well, our country will do well; without a doubt it is a great historical milestone that our country is going to have its first female president.”

He emphasized that the recognition comes accompanied by a firm demand for results and solutions to the country’s serious problems.

“We will take to the streets as many times as we have to go out to defend the Republic and democracy,” he stated.
