He further said, ‘We probably won’t win any trophy this season. But this is a winning project. We have to keep at it and work hard. I think we have the ability, strength and motivation to move forward.’
‘In January I thought a change was needed. But I think, now is the best decision. I think, it (resignation decision) has brought stability. Above all, I am happy for the support I have received from the club’- added Xavi.
Javi said, ‘Many people have shown me that this project is not finished. I am there for the team to win. We will fix the little mistakes that have plagued us this year. We believe we will be very close to our target next season.’
Barca lost 5-3 to Villarreal in La Liga last January. After that, Xavi announced that he will resign at the end of this season even though he has a term until 2025. After his decision, Barca went undefeated in 11 consecutive matches by surprising everyone.
Seeing the progress of Barca, the president asked Xavi to stay at the club. The Spanish coach finally decided to stay at Barca.
