After being brought before the Public Prosecutor at the Court of First Instance in Anosy, a 67-year-old French national was placed in custody at the Tsiafahy prison on Tuesday, August 13, accused of the murder of his 31-year-old Malagasy wife. As a reminder, this individual roused the entire Anjomakely neighborhood, Bongatsara commune, last Saturday night, which led the gendarmes of the Andoharanofotsy brigade to intervene. This man was drunk and claimed to be calling for help because of his wife’s injury. Investigators found that there was no one else in their house apart from the couple, and the wife was stabbed in the thigh and died from significant blood loss. This is what led to the husband’s arrest. The investigation carried out by the police also revealed that the couple had always been in conflict since they moved to this town and that the husband is a man known to be violent.
