The government is working on initiatives so that handicrafts can play a role in exports. The Prime Minister has declared handicrafts as annual product this year. Projects are being taken to bring out suitable handicraft products across the country. We are working to develop trade relations with 26 countries of the world to increase exports and market facilities.
Commerce State Minister Ahsanul Islam Titu said these things in the speech of the chief guest at the seminar organized by the Business Promotion Council and Banglacraft at the Multipurpose Hall at the Bangladesh Military Museum on Tuesday (June 4).
He also said that the National Logistics Policy 2024 is helping to improve the supply chain. The government is interested in making artisans artists so that handicrafts and artisans do not disappear.
Banglacraft president SU Haider welcomed the seminar. Member of Parliament Nadia Binte Amin, Commerce Secretary Mohang Salim Uddin, Director General of Export Development Bureau Bebi Rani Karmakar, BPC Chief Executive Nahid Afroz and many others spoke as special guests.
Former president of Banglacraft Ashrafur Rahman and former vice president Shahid Shamim, proprietor of Shilpalok Sharmin Afroz Labani, Tasmina Ruby of Taha Handicraft and other handicraft entrepreneurs and representatives were present.
