Garment workers protested in Zarun area under Konabari police station of Gazipur City Corporation demanding payment of outstanding salary, Eid bonus and annual leave.
From Monday (April 1) morning, the workers of the Kaya Neat Composite Limited factory started protesting. At one point they blocked the Konabari Kashimpur road.
According to the workers and police sources, the workers of Kaya Net Composite Limited factory in Zarun area were demanding payment of their February salary, Eid bonus and annual leave for 2022. But the factory authorities are not paying it. At one point, the workers started protesting in front of the factory from morning.
Later they blocked the Konabari-Kashimpur road. All kinds of traffic stopped on that road. On receiving the information, the industrial police and the police went to the spot and removed the workers from the road.
Kashimpur Zone Industrial Police Additional Superintendent of Police Deepak Chandra Majumdar confirmed the matter and said that the workers of that factory protested to demand payment of salary and Eid bonus for last February and March. At one point they blocked the Konabari-Kashimpur road. On receiving the information, the police went to the spot and removed them from the road.
