Work continues on the project to establish the Souq Al-Jumaa transfer station

Tripoli, March 3, 2024 (Libyan News) – The General Electricity Company announced today, Sunday, the continuation of work within the project to establish the Souq Al-Jumaa substation, voltage 11/30 kV. F.

A company statement said that the Souq al-Jumaa transfer station is considered one of the important stations that was recently developed and replaced with new equipment instead of the old, feeding a wide area of ​​the Souq al-Jumaa area.

The General Electricity Company stated in a previous statement that, as part of following up on the major maintenance and overhaul work for production stations in a number of regions, maintenance work is continuing for the second steam unit at the Al-Khoms power station, which included the work of removing the rotary air heater, which is managed by the station’s technicians and engineers.

These works come as a continuation of the efforts of the company’s Board of Directors to renew the production units in support of the electrical network, and to ensure that the units operate with high efficiency.

The company indicated that work in the south is continuing to repair the fault that caused the power outage in the Hajara, Nasiriyah and Mahdia neighborhoods in the city of Sebha, and all maintenance work has been completed and the electrical current has been restored.

Workers from the Tajoura Distribution Department are also carrying out emergency maintenance work on a number of power transmission lines feeding some homes and farms, including replacing and tightening wires, and all maintenance work has been completed and the electrical current has been restored.
