New traffic lights

The capital commune reported that the smart traffic light system is made up of sensors and its implementation seeks to provide benefits for pedestrians, cyclists, vehicle drivers and public transportation users.

These devices will reduce waiting times, improve travel times and have systems that indicate to pedestrians when they can cross the streets. Likewise, lights will be placed so that cyclists know the indicated time in which they can travel.

A delegate from the Metropolitan Transport and Transit Regulatory Entity (Emetra) explained that some corridors have already been completed as part of the application of this engineering project in vehicular mobility, but interventions will continue in different areas over the next few days.

Underground metro project in the City

The mayor of the capital, Ricardo Quiñónez, recently referred to the joint work between the Government of the republic and the commune and highlighted that these will focus on the development of different works, among which the implementation of the first metro in the country stands out, which It will cover two routes and would cover different municipalities.
