LUQUE. Prosecutor Jorge Escobar, in charge of the investigation into the tragic death of two women swept away by a rapid in the city of Luque, announced that the case opened several aspects that require urgent attention.

According to Escobar’s statements, the investigation will focus on two main fronts. On the one hand, the infrastructure works carried out by the Municipality of Luque will be analyzed to determine if they complied with the necessary security measures to prevent this type of incidents. On the other hand, documentation will be requested from the municipality of Artigas related to the driver involved in the accident, who would have been lost during the event.

The prosecutor highlighted the importance of carrying out both architectural and director expertise to advance the investigation. In addition, the route of the vehicle at the time of the accident will be analyzed to clarify the facts.

The case remains under the category of “fact to be determined”, and it is expected that the results of the expertise will be determined if it is a punishable act subject to public criminal action.
