A collision between motorboats caused the death of two people in Boipeba, a tourist destination in Bahia, south of Salvador, on Friday (29). A missing woman was rescued and taken to a local hospital.
Two boats collided while traveling in a stretch known as Rio do Inferno. A 34-year-old man from Alagoas and a 35-year-old woman from Goiás died at the scene.
According to the Civil Police of Bahia, the driver of the boat appeared drunk. He was arrested in the act on Friday afternoon (29th), and taken to the police station in Cairu, the city where the island of Boipeba is located.
The woman had disappeared after the accident. She was found alive and taken to a local hospital, where she is being treated. There is no information on her health status.
