Green economy appalled by lack of interest in the sometimes highly precarious situation of sole proprietors and small business owners after economic parliament
No wonder that the ÖVP Economic Association is not concerned with EPU when one hears that they are denigrated as “hobby entrepreneurs”
Sabine Jungwirth, Federal Spokesperson for the Green Economy
Vienna (OTS) – The Economic Parliament held on June 27th left a bitter aftertaste. All proposals submitted by the Green Economy to improve the social security of entrepreneurs in Austria were rejected by the ÖVP Economic Association.
Disinterest in the social security of entrepreneurs
The picture that emerges from the voting behavior is nothing new. The ÖVP Economic Association continues to focus exclusively on the concerns of large companies in its interest-based work. The sometimes highly precarious situation with regard to social security for primarily sole proprietors and small business owners in Austria is not a priority for the officials of the ÖVP Economic Association. 60% of companies in Austria are now sole proprietors. However, the existing social security systems do not adequately protect them.
“It’s no wonder that the ÖVP Economic Association is not concerned with EPU when you hear that they are being denigrated as ‘hobby entrepreneurs'”
said Sabine Jungwirth, federal spokeswoman for the Green Economy.
