According to a data analysis by Bloomberg Intelligence, Taiwan and South Korea have seen a decrease in airline bookings since April, while flights from Hong Kong have recorded an average of 50 %.
The analysis revealed that the books of weekly arrival from the Asian financial center Hong Kong from the end of June to the beginning of July have also seen a decrease of more than 80 %.
Nevertheless, Japanese authorities have appealed to tourists not to believe in these rumors, and scientists have repeated that the current scientific ways is not possible to predict the time and severity of the earthquake.
Japan’s tourism industry has been strong in recent months, and according to the latest data available, 39 million foreign tourists arrived in Japan in April.
However, Aviation and Defense analysts of Bloomberg Intelligence have warned that ‘earthquake speculations are certainly having a negative impact on Japan’s tourism and can temporarily slow down tourist trends.
“Tourists are taking careful attitude in the current situation, as there are other close travel alternatives in the region.”
Many people say that the warnings of Tataski should not be ignored, as it is claimed that they predicted other natural disasters, including the major eastern Japan earthquake and tsunami.
In a statement to Bloomberg, the author said: ‘I would also like to take precautionary measures to prevent disasters, such as storing the necessary equipment and checking the evacuation routes when going out.
“I plan to be careful daily when approaching July 2025.”
