White House responds to whether Trump was an FBI informant in the Epstein case

White House spokesperson Karoline Leavitt confirmed this Tuesday that “it is not true” that President Donald Trump was an FBI informant in the case of Jeffrey Epstein, accused of sex trafficking of minors.

In commenting on recent statements by US House Speaker Mike Johnson, who made that statement, Leavitt maintained that he had meant something else.

“I think the president [de la Cámara de Representantes] “It was referring to the fact that President Trump kicked Jeffrey Epstein out of his Mar-a-Lago property, for reasons he has already addressed,” he declared at a press conference.

Johnson told reporters last Thursday that when Trump first heard the rumors related to the financier, he expelled him from his Mar-a-Lago residence, adding that “he was an FBI informant to try to put an end to all that.” However, this Monday he backtracked, stating that perhaps he did not use the “correct terminology.”

«What I was referring to in that long conversation was what the victims’ lawyer had said. “More than a decade ago, President Trump kicked Epstein out of Mar-a-Lago,” Johnson explained, noting that Trump “was one of the only prominent figures” who wanted to help law enforcement at the time. “I don’t know if I used the correct terminology, but this is common knowledge, and everyone knows it,” he said.
