US Deputy Secretary of State Victoria Nuland is forced to resign due to deep disagreements with White House policies.
Publika.az reports that Scott Ritter, a former intelligence officer of the US Armed Forces, said this in an interview with journalist Danny Haiphong.
According to him, this is not Nuland’s voluntary decision. The former intelligence officer believes that this is no longer consistent with the policies pursued by US President Joe Biden and Secretary of State Anthony Blinken.
Commenting on the deputy secretary of state’s resignation, he said he would never bow to the views of the White House: his convictions are too strong and his status in United States politics too high. Ritter noted that Nuland’s rhetoric does not meet the current needs of the United States in relations with the Russian Federation.
He also considered his resignation as part of Biden’s preparation for the upcoming elections. The former intelligence officer noted that the American administration is now doing a reality check.
“They have an election around the corner and Ukraine is becoming a big problem. The question is how to mitigate the consequences of Russia’s inevitable victory,” Ritter added.
