The Zhaksylyk Ushkempirov Martial Arts Palace will host competitions in national wrestling styles: Kazakh Kuresi, Koresh and Alysh, the official website of the Akimat reports with reference to the Directorate of the 5th World Nomad Games.
The sports complex was opened on September 8, 2021, for the 30th anniversary of the country’s Independence at the intersection of Kabanbai Batyr Avenue and the streets of the khans Kerey and Zhanibek.
Zhaksylyk Ushkempirov is a classical wrestler, Olympic champion, Hero of Labor of Kazakhstan, Honored Master of Sports, World Champion, Honored Coach of Kazakhstan.
The Palace of Martial Arts is equipped with a modern arena with an area of 3,294.6 square meters and a capacity of five thousand spectators. Competitions and championships of the republican and international level are held here.
The palace is also adapted for people with limited mobility, equipped with special places for wheelchair users and accompanying persons, as well as a panoramic elevator for access to the arena.
We remind you that approximately two thousand participants from 89 countries will take part in the Games.
The games include three areas: sports, culture and science.
The infrastructure of the World Nomad Games included six capital facilities: the Astana Arena stadium, the Kazanat hippodrome, the J. Ushkempirov Martial Arts Palace, the Alau Ice Palace, the Qazaqstan athletics sports complex, and the Duman complex.
