KUALA LUMPUR – Malaysian police have arrested a husband and wife, both local residents, for supplying firearms to an Israeli man strongly suspected of being an agent Mossad.

Police said they did not rule out the possibility that more Malaysians were involved in the case, and had increased security measures for the King, Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim and other Malaysian leaders.

The couple’s arrest came after a 36-year-old Israeli man was arrested on March 27 at a hotel in Jalan Ampang, Kuala Lumpur, for carrying a gun and ammunition.

Quoting the report The Star, Sunday (31/3/2024), the man who is strongly suspected of being an agent of the Mossad—Israel’s intelligence agency for foreign operations—had traveled from the United Arab Emirates and entered Malaysia on March 12 using a French passport. But he surrendered his Israeli passport after further investigation.

Six pistols and 200 bullets were confiscated from the Israeli man, who admitted to entering Malaysia to hunt down and kill fellow Israelis because of a family dispute.

The weapons included a Sig Sauer, two Glocks and a Smith & Wesson, which the suspect claimed had been purchased in Malaysia using cryptocurrency. Three guns were found loaded when police seized the weapons.

Police said on March 29 that their investigation was focused on the possibility that the suspect was an Israeli intelligence agent.

On March 30, Inspector General of Police Razarudin Husain said the arrested pair were believed to have obtained the weapons from a neighboring country.

“We are also looking into why they had other weapons,” he told a local newspaper Daily news. A gun was recovered from a backpack in the couple’s Honda Jazz after they were taken back to their residence in Kuala Selangor, Selangor state. They are believed to have supplied six pistols to the Israeli men.
