Summer is just around the corner and with it basic and upper secondary education students in Mexico are anxiously awaiting the start of their vacations.
The SEP has established the exact dates for this long-awaited break, along with other relevant events in the school calendar.
When do the 2024 summer holidays start?
According to the official SEP calendar, summer vacations for the 2023-2024 school year will begin on Monday, July 16.
This date marks the beginning of a well-deserved break for students, beginning 5 weeks of rest after an intense school year.
Before the start of the summer holidays, students and teachers will enjoy some days of rest and important events in the school calendar:
May 1: International Labor Day.
May 15 teacher’s day.
May 31 and June 28: School Technical Council Days, without classes for students.
Next School Technical Councils and Intensive Workshops: April 26, May 31 and June 28.
These days provide moments of rest and reflection for students and teachers, as well as opportunities for professional development and school planning.
Upcoming SEP announcements
The SEP will later announce the 2024-2025 school calendar, which will include the start and end dates of the summer holidays for the next school year.
