BOGOR – 9th Vice President’s Message Hamzah Haz Teuku Hanibal, Hamzah Haz’s son-in-law, will always be remembered. The PPP General Chairman passed away at RSPAD Gatot Soebroto, Central Jakarta, Wednesday (24/7/2024).

Hamzah Haz will be prayed at the Al-Istiwomah Mosque which is right next to the funeral home on Jalan Kebon Pedes, Tanah Sareal, Bogor City. Furthermore, he will be buried in Cisarua, Bogor.

“Everything is still being processed in Tegalan, Matraman is also waiting for coordination with the State Secretariat on what to do. But it is certain that the deceased will be taken to this mosque for prayers. After that, the deceased will be taken to the family cemetery in Cisarua,” said Teuku Hanibal.

He recalled Hamzah Haz during his life as a good parent. The message he always remembered from the late Hamzah Haz was not to leave prayer.

“Don’t forget, don’t leave out prayers, that’s what he always said to his children and grandchildren. Whatever your activities, whatever your position, don’t leave out prayers,” he said.

It is known that Hamzah Haz was once Vice President accompanying the 5th President of the Republic of Indonesia, Megawati Soekarnoputri, who served for the 2001-2004 period.

Before serving as Vice President, Hamzah Haz was in President BJ Habibie’s cabinet as Minister of State for Investment/Head of the Investment Coordinating Board (BKPM). He was also Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives for the 1999-2004 period.

In the era of President KH Abdurrahman Wahid or Gus Dur, Hamzah Haz was asked to join to serve as Coordinating Minister for People’s Welfare and Poverty Alleviation.
