I haven’t had any problems falling asleep before. Nevertheless, I recently looked into the topic and had to realize: “Counting sheep is definitely out”.
In the category “There is nothing that doesn’t exist”, I came across the podcast “Falling asleep with Wikipedia” while looking for new entertainment on the way to work.
Toys to help you fall asleep
As I listened, I was greeted by a sonorous female voice who, as a matter of course, read me a Wikipedia entry about toys. “A toy is an object used for play. Most toys are made specifically for children, but some toys are also used by adults…”
Not a good idea to listen to a podcast like this while driving
I couldn’t stand it any longer. And besides, it definitely wasn’t a good idea to listen to a podcast like this while driving. Just imagine if it had worked.
A work colleague said that she prefers to listen to a Goethe radio play on the plane to calm her nerves. The tragedy second part. Personally, that would make me more excited because it reminds me of high school exams.
Go to bed at the right frequency
Of course, cell phone apps that play so-called white noise for the user also promise relaxation if you have trouble falling asleep. It is intended to reduce stress because ambient noise is subjectively perceived less. White noise is noise with a constant power density spectrum in a specific frequency range.
My fight on the edge of the Olympic Tower
At least that’s what it said on Wikipedia. But after two paragraphs I stopped reading. A deep feeling of tiredness came over me.
From the lives of the LW journalists
The “Gazettchen” is an informal column in which the authors talk in a casual way about their everyday experiences or sometimes provide insight into their thoughts. This has a long tradition: On December 3, 1946, an opinion piece with the title “Today” appeared for the first time at the top left of the first local page in the “Luxemburger Wort”. On January 13, 1971, the extremely popular and very personal column became the “Gazettchen,” which has retained its premium place in Luxembourg’s highest-circulation daily newspaper to this day and throughout all layout revisions.
