What promise did Pashinyan make to Aliyev when he invited the EU mission? – 2024-05-27 18:55:25

Of course, the situation in Armenia does not create optimism. The leadership of Armenia, to be honest, distorts the history of the last three years, using false pretexts, deliberately causes the disruption of relations with the Russian Federation, and the slander of our military personnel serving in the 102nd military base.

Publika.az It is reported that on March 29, Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov said this in an interview to “Izvestia”.

“In difficult situations, it is the CSTO that has repeatedly defended the interests of Armenia. The CSTO stated that it is ready to send its peacekeeping mission to the republic in 2021 in order to reduce the tension in the relations between Armenia and Azerbaijan. Even at the ministerial meeting held in Yerevan in the fall of 2021, the composition of the mission was fully agreed – we sat until the night, approved everything, in the morning, when the presidents and prime ministers already met, Mr. Pashinyan said that there is no consensus,” Lavrov said.

According to Lavrov, a few days later, Pashinyan called the same peacekeeping mission of the European Union to Armenia and promised Azerbaijan that it would last for only two months. Two months later, ignoring Baku, the European Union doubled this mission.

“Even now, military personnel from Norway, Canada and the United States are still being sent there, turning the European Union’s mission into that of the North Atlantic Alliance. And this whole story of the last few years is being distorted by Mr. Pashinyan, his staff and the leadership of the Armenian parliament,” Lavrov said.
