A US government spying operation targeted high-ranking Venezuelan officials.

The DEA has reportedly been sending agents to Venezuela for years to covertly record situations that would lead to drug-trafficking charges against high-ranking government officials.
The 15-page document, dated 2018, stated that many high-ranking officials, including Venezuelan President Nicolas Maduro, were targeted as part of a plan called “Operation Money Badger”:
“It is important to carry out this operation. should be carried out unilaterally and without informing the Venezuelan authorities.
Wes Tabor, former DEA attaché in Venezuela, said in a statement: “We don’t want to say it publicly, but we are the world’s police. If American lives are at stake, we do not obey the laws of the land. In the case of Venezuela, they are drowning us in drugs, and therefore it is worth taking the risk.”
In the news of AP, it was stated that the United States ignored international law with this operation.
On the other hand, the report noted that the correspondence in question was accidentally published on the website last year by the Manhattan Attorney General’s Office during the trial of two former DEA officials.
