The fact that the world is changing and they are changing, or everyone is facing the imperative to change, is beyond doubt and there is no question of discussion here. The modern world, at the technological and geopolitical levels, is in such a period, in such an era, that it requires flexibility, the ability to constantly change from individuals, societies and states. But, one must understand what change means.
Does it mean giving up the foundations of state and national identity, or change in public relations, management approaches, behavior of elites, change through institutional modernization in various fields? Today’s world demands just that, not a relinquishment of identity. Moreover, in essence, a dangerous contrast is created that, if you are not against change, then you cannot be against the “speech” and narratives put forth about the Declaration of Independence and the Constitution, and if you are against them, then you are against change, you are against the imperative to change. and ability.
And that is another dangerous “dualism” introduced into our lives, the trap of creating a situation of two extremes by creating an opposition and managing it through it. Armenia must change its internal qualities, the social atmosphere, the content of politics, the agenda must change, Armenia must embark on a broad policy of creating effective institutions, Armenia must find a formula to transfer its intra-societal and intra-political differences to the level of institutional competition, and it is thanks to all of this. , that Armenia will be so flexible in the modern world that it will be able to change its behavior and process arising from the situation, while not harming the basis of its state and national identity in any way. This is the obligation of any elite who aspires to lead Armenia.
