An irritated stomach will bother you for a few days and then the problems will disappear by themselves. But you can significantly speed up this process with the right diet. Important is drink a lotideally lukewarm tea. The best is from mintwhich is a great remedy for indigestion, but also ginger or chamomile, if you don’t have heartburn, or black tea to which you add a few drops of fresh ginger juice. Forget about coffee for a while, of course alcohol and also milk. Digesting it requires increased production of stomach acids, and you really don’t want that on an upset stomach.

Start light and fat-free

If you can eat something, try it first mashed banana, which contains potassium and helps remove harmful substances from the body. You can also have grated apple without skin or boiled or stewed carrots, but without fat. If you keep something warm, the ready-made balm for an upset stomach is clean, non-greasy and only slightly salty chicken broth. To fill your stomach a little, try to add gradually cooked rice, diet crackers or rollwhich should be at least a day old, and suitable proteins in the form of cooked chicken or turkey.

He cannot imagine Easter Monday somewhere without it soup called smigrustovka. It got its name from the word šmigrust. That’s what they say in some parts of Moravia the custom of dousing girls with water on Easter Monday. Originally, it was probably a form of pagan blessing, later it grew into a joking punishment for greed and reluctance to present Easter eggs or other gifts to carolers. In Eastern Bohemia, this custom is known as smerkust, smerkus or smerkous, while in Moravia it is called smigrust, or smirgust, smergust or smegrust.

The smigrustovka soup on the plate plays with all the colors and it supposedly includes what the carolers bring from the carol. In the villages, it wasn’t just hard-boiled eggs, but they often brought a good home-made sausage or a piece of smoked meat. It is also said that this soup can work wonders, especially if someone has an upset stomach from the carol. Try it and see for yourself.

Easter soup smigrustovka

What you will need:

  • 300 g of smoked meat
  • 1 large onion
  • 1 spicy sausage
  • 4 hard-boiled eggs
  • 50 ml of whipping cream
  • 2 tablespoons plain flour
  • 1 teaspoon sweet ground paprika
  • 1 egg yolk
  • grated horseradish
  • chives
  • salt and ground pepper

Preparation process:

1. Put the smoked meat in a pot, add the peeled whole onion and cook until the meat is soft. Add water as needed. Remove the soft meat and cook the sausage in the broth for another 15 minutes. Then strain the broth and measure 1 liter.

2. Cut the smoked meat and sausage into cubes. Divide them among four plates and add a peeled, quartered hard-boiled egg to each.

3. Bring the broth to a boil. Gradually beat in the cream mixed with flour and ground paprika. Boil for 10 minutes, remove from the heat and stir in the beaten egg yolk. Finally, season the broth with salt and pepper as needed.

4. Divide the broth into plates and garnish with grated horseradish and chives.
