Weather: 40 days are coming – The 6 regions that will “burn”

A prolonged heat wave is expected over the next few days as the mercury gradually rises with next Tuesday being the hottest day as the temperature in places could even “touch” 40 degrees.

According to the forecast of the EMY, for today Saturday, clear weather is predicted throughout the country and only in the midday-afternoon hours in the northern continental regions, temporary clouds will develop and it is possible that there will be local rains or showers in the mountains.

Visibility in the morning hours to the west and north will be locally limited.

The winds in the Aegean will blow southerly up to 5 Beaufort and in the rest of the areas they will be variable 2 to 4 Beaufort. In the midday hours, sea breezes will prevail in the coastal areas.

The temperature will rise and reach 32 to 33 degrees on the mainland and 34 degrees in places in the east and 28 to 30 degrees Celsius in the island regions.

The weather on Sunday

Tomorrow Sunday, the weather will initially be clear with sparse clouds in the morning hours in the Cyclades and the Dodecanese. In the midday and afternoon hours, clouds will develop in the continental areas and there will be local rains or showers, mainly in the mountains.

The winds in the eastern Aegean will blow northerly 4 to 5 and in the rest they will be variable 2 to 4 Beaufort. In the midday hours, sea breezes will prevail in the coastal areas.

The temperature will rise slightly and reach 32 to 34 degrees on the mainland and 35 degrees in places and 29 to 31 degrees Celsius in the island regions. In the areas where sea breeze will prevail, the maximum temperatures will be 3 to 4 degrees lower.

Hot invasion Monday and Tuesday

On Monday, the temperature will rise further. Specifically, in the north, sparse clouds in places and at intervals more dense mainly in the west. Clouds will develop in the midday and afternoon hours in the central and northern continents and there will be local rain or showers. Almost clear weather in the rest of the country.

The winds in the eastern Aegean will blow north northwest 4 to 5 Beaufort. In the rest of the country 2 to 4 Beaufort will be variable. Sea breezes will blow in coastal areas during the midday hours.

The temperature will rise slightly further, mainly in the south and will fluctuate at high levels for the season. It will reach 32 to 34 and in places 35 degrees in the northern continents, 34 to 35 and in places 36 degrees in the rest of the continents and 30 to 33 degrees Celsius in the island country. In the areas where sea breeze will prevail, the maximum temperatures will be 3 to 4 degrees lower.

On Tuesday, the temperature in the northwest will see a small drop while in the rest of the country it will see a small further rise, mainly in the central and south and will fluctuate at high levels for the season where it will reach the continental 35 to 37 degrees Celsius in places.

According to the meteorologist, Giorgos Tsatraphyllias, this strong heat wave, the first for this year, is expected to hit our country from Sunday (2/6).

The meteorologist in his new post mentions the areas where the highest temperatures will be observed from Tuesday to Thursday: “The areas where the highest temperatures will occur are Thessaly, central Macedonia, Boeotia, Attica, Fthiotida, Aetoloakarnania , the Peloponnese, Crete and the Dodecanese”.
