Peter Stano, the spokesman of the European Union (EU), revealed the real intention of his organization with the provocative views he expressed in an interview with the Armenian service of “Azadlig” radio on April 6.

It was noted that the official of the European Union spoke extensively about the importance of the principle of territorial integrity in the answer to the question about Armenia, and thus tried to show that they care about international law. He also raised the issue of creating conditions for ethnic Armenians to return to Azerbaijan.
“A simple question arises – where was the EU when Armenia occupied 20 percent of Azerbaijan’s land for 30 years? 8 Why is Azerbaijan still silent on the continuation of the occupation of the village by Armenia? Why does the EU not raise the issue of the return of 300,000 Azerbaijanis expelled from Armenia in the last wave of ethnic cleansing and the massive destruction of Azerbaijani cultural heritage in Armenia?
It turns out that since a certain period of time has passed since the expulsion of Azerbaijanis from Armenia, their right to return is no longer relevant. It is the greatest injustice to use the longing for the Motherland of Western Azerbaijanis against them for more than 30 years.
All this proves the ethnic and religious discrimination of the EU. The EU is not honest about human rights or international law. The policy of the EU consists in inciting Armenia against Azerbaijan using an old tool such as the “right” of Armenians in Azerbaijan.
We categorically reject the provocative approach of the EU and demand an end to it,” the statement of the Community emphasized.
It was also noted that no discrimination should be allowed in the issue of return, the principle of reciprocity should be observed, and the return of West Azerbaijanis, who have been waiting for their return for more than 30 years, should be resolved first as a priority issue.
