The European Union (EU) appreciates the continuation of the peace process between Azerbaijan and Armenia and is also pleased to see progress in delimiting the borders between the countries.
Publika.az EU Ambassador to Azerbaijan Peter Mikhalko said this at a meeting with journalists on the occasion of the World Press Freedom Day.
The ambassador recalled that the EU participated in the process of supporting the peace process and negotiations between Baku and Yerevan:
“We see that negotiations on the peace agreement continue, and the border delimitation process is underway.”
He said that the EU is ready to continue supporting the peace process between Azerbaijan and Armenia.
It should be noted that on April 19, the eighth meeting of the State Commission on Delimitation of the State Border between the Republic of Azerbaijan and the Republic of Armenia and the Commission on Delimitation of the State Border and Border Security between the Republic of Armenia and the Republic of Azerbaijan was held on the border between Azerbaijan and Armenia. During the meeting, an agreement was reached on the return of 4 villages of Gazakh occupied by Armenia (Baganis Ayrim, Ashagi Eskipara, Kheyrimli and Gizilhajili villages) to Azerbaijan.
