The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Azerbaijan has announced that it has received a positive response from most of the international organizations to which it has sent an official note to participate in the extraordinary presidential elections to be held on February 7.
Publika.az Aykhan Hajizadeh, head of the press service of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Azerbaijan, said this in a statement to the secki-2024.az website.
“In order to invite international organizations, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs has sent relevant notes to the OSCE Office for Democratic Institutions and Human Rights, the Commonwealth of Independent States, the Organization of Islamic Cooperation, the Shanghai Cooperation Organization, the Organization for Democracy and Economic Development (GUAM), the Organization of Turkic States and the Youth Organization of the Non-Aligned Movement. . According to the current procedure, the mentioned organizations, in turn, call on the member states to observe the elections in the respective country. We have received positive responses from most of the organizations to which we sent invitations,” A. Hajizade said.
The head of the press service also emphasized that many applications were received from foreign mass media for the purpose of monitoring the February 7 elections, and after the accreditation process is completed, information will be provided on the exact number of them.
