“We are ready”: Carlos Fernando Galán on the Copa América final

On the eve of the exciting Copa América final between Colombia and Argentina, the Mayor of Bogotá, Carlos Fernando Galán, has reaffirmed the city’s commitment to security and public order during this Sunday, July 14.

Accompanied by General Gualdrón, commander of the Metropolitan Police of Bogotá, the Mayor flew over the three main points where giant screens will be installed, as well as other places where citizens will gather.

“We are ready,” said Mayor Galán, highlighting the coordination between the approximately 2,000 managers of the District and the additional deployment of 2,500 men from the Bogotá Metropolitan Police to ensure that the sports day takes place in a peaceful and festive atmosphere.

Since the early hours of the day, police presence has been intensified throughout the city, with the aim of preventing any incidents and ensuring that citizens enjoy the Copa América final in peace and responsibility. This joint effort between the local administration and security forces seeks to ensure that Bogotá becomes a safe and welcoming place for all football fans, both at public meeting points and in other spaces where a significant influx of people is expected.
