Someone who often stays up late usually has many reasons why they sleep late. Starting from work, watching films, and so on.
According to the Health page, those who often stay up late are at greater risk of developing depression, diabetes, high blood pressure and other negative health impacts. One thing that needs to be considered is the health of the liver. Staying up too often will also have a bad impact on your heart.
This was revealed by yoga instructor Milanda Soenarto. Through his TikTok account, @milanda228, he explained that sleeping later than 11 pm can be dangerous for the liver.
“Try not to sleep later than 11 pm, because from 11 pm to 1 am, our liver is on cleaning duty,” said Milanda.
He explained that the liver has 500 functions, one of which is detoxification. At that time, the liver will clean and reduce toxins in the body. If you sleep too late, the liver cannot perform its role optimally, which can have an impact on body health.
“What happens if we have a habit of sleeping at night? “Of course it will disrupt our metabolic system,” he said.
Quoting the Times of India page, researcher Yan Liu said that staying up late can make a person at higher risk of fatty liver disease. People with poor night’s sleep and prolonged naps have the highest risk of developing fatty liver disease.
“Our study found that moderate improvements in sleep quality were associated with a 29 percent reduction in the risk of fatty liver disease,” Liu said.
Milanda also appealed to people to manage their sleep time and reduce the habit of staying up late for the sake of liver health which is important for the body.
“Take care of our hearts, because the heart is a silent killer,” he concluded.
