Washington itself let the genie out of the bottle by bypassing the UN Security Council in Iraq, Yugoslavia and several other cases.
Publika.az reports that Russian President Vladimir Putin said this while communicating with the participants of the World Youth Festival (WYF).
“For example, the events in Iraq. But everything was done there without UN Security Council sanctions. The same in Syria, former Yugoslavia. I won’t tell you the reasons now, but there was no resolution of the UN Security Council. But the United States itself let this genie out of the bottle,” Putin said.
He noted that the US elites could not cope with the responsibility of being the only superpower after the collapse of the USSR.
“The US created a monopoly and began to strengthen it. I do not mean the American people, but the ruling elite, but by strengthening this monopoly, they soon faced something that the vast majority of the world’s countries did not like,” Putin said.
He added that the world cannot be controlled from one center and this is harmful even to this center itself because it starts to shake the foundation.
