American sources revealed that the US Department of Defense “Pentagon” is importing ammunition and artillery shells. From its warehouses in the Israeli occupation entity and South Korea, it sends them to Ukraine to meet the great shortage and urgent need for artillery shells and ammunition in Ukraine, and to fuel the conflict there and obstruct the process of reaching any peaceful solution.

The sources revealed, according to a report by the Seattle Times published today, that the United States established these warehouses following the 1973 war, to be used in wars against Arab countries, and also gave permission to the Israeli occupation authorities to use them in emergency situations under an agreement signed between the two sides in 1980.

With US stockpiles deteriorating and American arms manufacturers still unable to keep up with the pace of combat operations in Ukraine, the Pentagon has turned to alternative supplies of shells to fill the gap in both South Korea and Israel, the use of which in the Ukraine war has not been previously disclosed, according to the newspaper report.

As senior military officials from dozens of countries, including NATO nations, prepare to meet at Ramstein Air Base in Germany on Friday to discuss sending more tanks and other weapons to Ukraine, U.S. officials are scrambling behind the scenes to send as much weaponry and ammunition as they can to counter what they believe is a Russian attack next spring.

“The United States has so far sent or pledged to send just over a million 155mm shells to Ukraine,” a senior U.S. official said, speaking on condition of anonymity, adding that “a significant portion of it has been transferred from stockpiles in Israel and South Korea.”

Other US sources revealed that the Ukrainian army uses about 90,000 artillery rounds per month, which is twice the rate of what is manufactured in the United States and European countries combined, which prompted Western countries to supply Ukraine through other sources, including existing stockpiles or commercial sales.
