He told the newspaper Maariv that those seeking revenge after the rocket attacks on the Golan Heights—the Zionist-occupied Syrian territory—could drag Israel further into a war with Hezbollah.
According to him, residential areas, power plants, gas platforms, military bases and factories in Israel could be targets for Hezbollah rocket attacks.
“As a result, Israel will suffer enormous losses and the country will be destroyed. We need to immediately end the war in Gaza, which will not end Hamas at all,” Brik said.
“As long as the war in Gaza continues, it is only a matter of time before a full-scale regional war breaks out. We can respond to Hezbollah without setting the entire Middle East on fire,” he added.
A rocket attack hit a soccer field in the Golan Heights on Saturday, killing 12 teenagers and children.
The Zionist military blamed Hezbollah for the rocket attack, but the pro-Iranian militia group denied involvement.
Two Zionist officials say Israel wants to hurt Hezbollah but not drag the Middle East into an all-out war.
Two other Zionist officials said Israel was preparing for possible fighting for days after Saturday’s rocket attacks.
