The US government has claimed that Russia used North Korea-supplied ballistic missiles and launchers in its war in Ukraine.
White House National Security Council (NSC) spokesman John Kirby said North Korea’s support for Russia was “serious and concerning.”
He expressed concern about Russia’s arms deals with North Korea at the United Nations Security Council and said he would prepare to impose further sanctions.

During the briefing, Kirby urged Congress to approve additional U.S. funding for Ukraine “without delay.”
“The most effective response to the horrific violence inflicted by Russia on the Ukrainian people is to continue to provide Ukraine with air defense capabilities and essential military equipment,” he said.
He also said, “Iran and North Korea stand with Russia. The Ukrainian people deserve to know that the government and people of the United States stand with Ukraine and will continue to stand with them.”
The latest US military aid package to Ukraine was worth $250 million (about 328 billion won) and was approved by Congress on December 27 last year.
Discussions about additional funding in the US Congress have been delayed due to a lack of support from Republican lawmakers. Republicans argue that enhanced security measures along the U.S.-Mexico border should be included in the military assistance deal.
Ukraine has warned that a war situation and national finances could be at risk if further aid from Western countries is not provided quickly.
