The Tax Authority announced that Elia Ohad Yousefian, Chief Operating Officer at the shipping company Volt (Volt Enterprises Ltd.), who is also in direct contact with its couriers, was arrested and brought before the Rishon Lezion Magistrate’s Court today (Monday) on suspicion of offsetting fictitious tax invoices amounting to hundreds Millions of shekels. Yousefian was interrogated and released under restrictive conditions.

As part of the investigation, conducted by the investigation unit of the Tel Aviv Customs and VAT and Central, the suspicion arises that Walt Kizza in the company’s accounting books tax invoices suspected to be fictitious, in the name of T.B. or Ltd., to the extent of hundreds of millions of shekels, with the direct involvement of Yousefian.

From the findings of the investigation so far, it is suspected that the sum of the suspected fictitious invoices that were offset in the period between January 2021 and today amounts to at least 230 million shekels, and that the tax for them is about 33.5 million shekels. At the same time, it is claimed in the request for arrest that there is an apparent suspicion of additional tax offenses in the Walt company and consistently poor conduct while defending themselves.

Yousefian was interrogated, gave his version and was released under restrictive conditions, including a personal guarantee of NIS 100,000 and a cash deposit of NIS 100,000.

It should be noted that about two and a half years ago, Walt stopped allowing its couriers, whom it does not employ directly in a method known as “platform economy”, to conduct business with it through slip companies (apart from couriers without status), and even disconnected 500 couriers from the application because of this. This is due to repeated claims of salary withholding by these companies and tax offenses that were discovered in several companies.
