One of the best bands from Liberec, Těla, led by Luboš Beránek, who is the author of the music and lyrics for all the songs, will play in front of the Matuškas.
“I would like to set the record straight that we are not a revival, but friends of Waldemar Matuška’s songs,” says the group’s frontman Jan Bílý fondly, whose audience not only in Liberec knows from the bands Ovčie Kiahne or Dědkové.

An interesting feature of the Liberec concert will be that Waldemar’s wife Olga Matušková will also arrive from St. Petersburg, Florida, where he lives.
“A group appeared in the Czech Republic that is probably not that well known yet, but the name enchanted me. They call themselves Waldovy Matuskas and when they introduce themselves on stage, they all introduce themselves as Matuskas. So we hit it off and I’ll be singing with them for the second time,” said Olga Matušková for TV Blesk.
A bunch of friends from Turnovsko just got together one day and formed a large group that likes to sing the songs of one of the most charismatic singers of Czech pop music. You can feel their joy in being able to borrow songs and bring them to life, and a great respect for the original.
Even if the name evokes a fun band, the arrangements and vocals are at a professional level. The Waldovy Matušky line-up consists of guitar, bass, drums, keyboards, trumpet, two female vocalists and, of course, a singer. However, all musicians participate in polyphonics.
Another motto is that they did not stick to one repertoire that they would repeat over and over again, but sometimes they also rehearse new songs, so their performance is always fresh and there is something to look forward to.
