Voula Kehagia / Our opponent is the Right, we are not interested in deconstructing PASOK

More psychologists in schools, the press representative of SYRIZA called for, while she described the government’s measures against school violence as “anachronistic”

“At SYRIZA-PS, we are focusing our attention on deconstructing the misleading policy with which the government is practiced during the prime ministership of Mr. Mitsotakis,” stressed the party’s press representative, Voula Kehagia.

Voula Kehagia, speaking to SKAI, commenting on the statements of Nikos Androulakis and PASOK, underlined, among other things, that “belittling your political opponent by constantly saying that he says nonsense and bullshit, I don’t think it feeds your political “I”, but only to an electorate that, anyway, will listen to you because they always and constantly want to support you.”

The press representative of SYRIZA-Progressive Alliance, regarding the government’s measures regarding school bullying, pointed out that “we think that these measures are not sufficient, Mr. Kasselakis also pointed that out yesterday. The five-day abortion is not a deterrent, societies have evolved, and so have our children. Aborting a child may not be repulsive today, but ‘attractive’ to a young person, a teenager, who may need another approach.”

At another point, Voula Kehagia noted that “there must be much more psychologists in schools, there must be social support for young children who “run away” and have a more aggressive and violent behavior. Mr. Kasselakis did not exonerate the ND measures, he said they are anachronistic, the type where the teacher takes the stick and punishes the student. We want more modern and contemporary measures, societies evolve.”

“It is one thing for a psychologist to be a visitor to the school and spend an hour or one day a week, and another to be constantly inside the school and if there is a behavior that is a little delinquent to be dealt with and resolved at that time,” said the press representative of SYRIZA-PS.

At the same time, Voula Kehagia pointed out that “we listen carefully to Mr. Androulakis and everything he says. Mr. Androulakis says “everything is right” and his political opponents say “shitholes” and “nonsense”. I hear these expressions, as formulated by PASOK officials. I want to repeat to PASOK and to all the democratic opposition parties, that our opponent must be the Right of Mr. Mitsotakis. We there turn our interest to deconstructing the misleading policy with which the government is practiced during the prime ministership of Mr. Mitsotakis. We are not interested in deconstructing PASOK”.

He added that “the citizens would like a united and democratic front against the government. The decision of the Supreme Court was issued. Mr. Androulakis, as he should have, raised an objection of unconstitutionality. The court did not vindicate Mr. Androulakis, it condemned the government that passed the relevant law with the relevant amendment, to be clear in terms of our wording.”

She continued by emphasizing that “Mr. Androulakis did well and acted well. So, instead of being happy, as he did in the Parliament, he started talking about slander by SYRIZA and its leadership, forgetting that when we had the revelations about the wiretapping, SYRIZA was accused of running a single-issue opposition, of throwing its weight in wiretapping scandal and that for this reason he is losing politically”.
