New Delhi (Viswas News). A video of a railway track is becoming increasingly viral on social media. In the video, some people can be seen tampering with the railway track. Users are sharing it and claiming that it is from India and are demanding strict action from the Railways.

Vishvas News found in its investigation that the claim being made about the viral video is false. Actually the viral video has no connection with India. This video is of an incident that took place near Sartaj railway crossing in Karachi, Pakistan in the year 2023, which people are now sharing with false claims that it is from India.

What is going viral?

Facebook User Maya Chavhanke shared the viral video on 30 August 2024 and wrote in the caption, “At this age, they are digging up railway tracks. Think, what will they do in the next 50 years? The government should read and understand what Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar ji had said about them. Nothing will happen by just chanting his name. @AshwiniVaishnaw ji, give orders to @RPF_INDIA to shoot as soon as such acts are seen, only then will some fear be generated. To find out the truth of the viral claim, we extracted several key frames from the video and searched them via Google reverse image. We found the viral claim. Video Found on a YouTube account called CCTV World. The video was uploaded on 6 December 2023. According to the information available, the viral video is of an incident that took place in Pakistan. These children were taken into custody after the video surfaced.

Based on the information received, we searched on Google with the help of related keywords. We found the viral Video Found on the Pakistan page Pakistani Trains. The video was uploaded on 5 December 2023. According to the information written in Urdu in the caption, the viral video is from Sartaj railway crossing in Karachi. Where some children together tried to steal the railway track.

For more information, we contacted Pakistan Arab News journalist Niyamath Khan. He told us that the viral claim is false. This video is from near Sartaj railway crossing in Karachi and is more than eight months old. As soon as the video went viral, the police took swift action and took them into custody. The police also found parts of the railway track near the children. He also shared with us the picture of the children being taken into custody.

Finally, we scanned the account of the user who shared the video with the false claim. We found that the user shares posts related to an ideology. The user has described himself as a resident of Noida on his profile.
