Designed especially for piano and violin lovers, the “Virtuoso Concert: Violin and Piano” presents the talented Austrian Yury Revich, who performs for the second time at the Casona Las Condes thanks to the efforts made by the U. Andrés Bello, together with the Austrian Embassy.
On this luxury occasion Revich will perform accompanied by the prominent Chilean pianist Danor Quinteros. This duo invites the public to live a unique experience with two musical virtuosos.
During 2024, the Cultural Extension Directorate will offer a very complete and varied season to celebrate its 20 years of management.
“We want to continue reaffirming our commitment to classical music and its dissemination, that is why for us as a University it is an honor to have Yury Revich on our stage again,” commented Felipe Karadima Skarmeta, director of UNAB Cultural Extension.
From the Austrian Embassy they indicated that for them it is essential to be present in Chile through culture, “showing the culture of Austria, and especially if artists of this extraordinary level can be presented is a privilege. It is also important to present a contemporary Austria, so Revich’s compositions integrate very well in this sense with what we want to show as an embassy.”
Yury Revich is an Austrian violinist, classical composer, honorary representative of Austria to UNICEF. He was named Young Artist of the Year in 2015 by the International Classical Music Awards and received the 2016 ECHO Klassik award for “Newcomer of the Year”. He plays a Stradivari 1709 violin on loan from the Goh Family Foundation. In 2023 his Chevalier St. Georges music album was included in the official soundtrack of the Netflix series “Bridgerton.”
Regarding his first visit to UNAB, he comments that it was an experience that he enjoyed, “the people were very friendly during the concert.” Regarding this new meeting, he hopes that people “can experience a story told through music, I suppose they will be very different stories for each member of the audience, because the perception of music is very individual, and I hope that after the concert gives people the feeling that they have experienced something beautiful and impressive.”
For his part, Danor Quinteros has positioned himself as one of the most interesting South American pianists of his generation. In Chile he has received 1st Prize in the Claudio Arrau competitions, the “Flora Guerra” competition organized by the Federico Chopin Society in Chile and the “Young Soloists” competition organized by the Teatro Universidad de Chile. His international achievements include awards in competitions such as the Santa Cecilia Competition in Portugal, Steinway-Preis in Germany, the Audience Award at the Pianale festival, Ile de France and the “Giuliano Pecar” Competition.
The evening program will include pieces by Bach, Revich, Piazzola, Sarasate, among others.
