– GoldPickaxe malware attacks iPhone in Vietnam
According to information from Group-IB, there are signs that GoldPickaxe is attacking Vietnamese users.
Recently, cybersecurity company Group – IB discovered a threat targeting iPhone users in Asia including Vietnam, the GoldPickaxe trojan. What’s worrying is that this is the first trojan specifically designed for Apple’s iOS operating system. This malware has the same origin as the GoldDigger malware of the GoldFactory group discovered mid-last year.
In its February report, Group-IB said GoldPickaxe is targeting Vietnamese users.
After that, the Department of Information Security warned about a situation where people were tricked into installing fake Public Service software, asking to record authentication videos, and then user accounts lost billions of dong.
The appearance of GoldPickaxe makes many organizations worried because of its danger when it has been successfully exploited on both iOS and Android and also collects user biometrics.
