Still dangerous
It is known that the 7.5 magnitude earthquake that occurred off the coast of Hualien district of Taiwan (China) this morning was considered the strongest in the past 25 years.
The earthquake caused many buildings to collapse.
This natural disaster caused at least 26 buildings, more than half in Hualien city, to collapse. Dozens of people trapped under the rubble are being rescued.
Footage from television stations in Taiwan showed many buildings in Hualien city tilting. Turtle Island in Yilan County, northeastern Taiwan, about 10km from Toucheng town, also lost its head.
This is the most intense earthquake in the past 25 years.
According to some Vietnamese people living in Taiwan, the earthquake passed but aftershocks still lingered in many places. In some localities, the power network has not yet been restored.
The energy from the earthquake caused Japan and the Philippines to issue tsunami warnings. The Philippine Seismology Agency issued a warning that the eastern coastal areas of the Philippines will be hit by a “High Tsunami”.
According to Japan’s NHK, a tsunami occurred on Yonaguni Island after the initial earthquake was identified. Waves 30cm high were recorded at Yonaguni Island at 9:18 a.m. (local time).
In some other places in Japan, people are still evacuating to safety.
After the earthquake, people in Taiwan, Japan and the Philippines may suffer additional tsunamis.
The Taiwan Meteorological Department also issued a tsunami warning, warning: “This earthquake has caused a tsunami, which is gradually approaching the coast of Taiwan. Enhanced warning for people in coastal areas Be alert and take precautions against the risk of a sudden tsunami.”
Not only that, some other sources also said there will be another earthquake in Taiwan 3 days later.
Faced with the above information, needless to say, not only people and compatriots in countries where natural disasters occur are afraid, but even Vietnamese people in their homeland are equally insecure. Many prayers and wishes of peace are still being sent to our “brothers” far away.
