“The person who was riding the bicycle managed to cross five lanes, going from zone 13 towards Liberación Boulevard and 3rd avenue in zone 9; However, unfortunately in the last lane he collided with two motorcycles,” said Amílcar Montejo, mayor of the Municipal Traffic Police (PMT) of Guatemala City.

After the impact, the motorcyclists and the cyclist fell on the asphalt strip and this caused injuries, making the presence of rescue forces necessary.

The mayor shared that three people were helped by firefighters. So far, the identity of those affected has not been released.

The traffic agents coordinated the presence of personnel from the National Civil Police for the corresponding follow-up of this case.

Complicated traffic after accident

Montejo highlighted that, in road terms, this situation makes the circulation of users coming from the Obelisk difficult, heading towards the Tecún Umán overpass.
